    13 Years of Dedicated Service

    Thank you to Hal DeBoer

After 13 years of serving on the Phillips Conservation Board, Hal DeBoer has retired. The Board of Supervisors and the administrators that have worked for PCD would like to thank him for his years of service and dedication to conservation. He was gifted a plaque at the October 2024 board meeting. We want to wish him well and thank him again for his service.

Hal joined the PCD Board of Supervisors in 2011 because of his love for the prairie and the agricultural lifestyle. He ” wanted to help preserve our community, way of life and culture.” He stated he really enjoyed the monthly meetings where the board members “became like a family and [we] created lifelong friendships” and that at the annual MACD Convention he was always in awe of how knowledgeable the speakers at the main meeting and breakouts were. He said, ” My life has been enhanced and made better by being a part of PCD.” We will miss him and his contagious positive attitude and kindness very much.

    Meet Cora Gray

I am so excited to be returning to the world of conservation after some time in the private sector! I have a degree in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management with a minor in Soil Science from the University of Wyoming and moved up to Malta to work as the SGI range conservationist in June of 2021 and since then have worked with FWP and a private ranch. I met my husband here and now the rest is history!

My husband is a rancher and so I have been learning lots about being a ranch wife and now a mother. These are two things I love; however, conservation is something I have been passionate about for a long time. I am so looking forward to building and expanding with the Conservation District (take a look at our strategic plan here for all the details).
